Information transfer - Past Year Question

Below is a sample answer for this question:

The pie chart shows the survey on choice of fast food outlest among Malaysian College Students for May 2004. Each slice represents the percentage of choice among college students. From the chart, McDonalds hold the highest percentage with 33% while, Burger King has the lowest percentage with 8%. The chart clearly shows that McDonalds is the most preferred fast food outlet among college students. McDonalds is most preferred because of their aggressive advertising which, targets not only children and teenagers, but also, to adults and families. Apart from that, they have a wide variety in their menu to cater to the different taste buds of the masses, which ranges from burgers to chicken and even to porridge compared to Burger Kings that only serve mainly burgers. The highest percentage of the choice of fast food outlets is McDonald, 33%. The lowest percentage of the choice of fast food outlets is Burger King, 8%. The difference of percentage between the highest and the lowest is 25%. McDonald is the highest percentage because of McDonald is aggressive in advertising. Besides that, McDonald also has the better variety in their menu-plentiful to choose. PM 11

Each slice represents the different fast food outlets and the percentages of choice. The highest percentage is McDonald, 33% and the lowest percentage is Burger King with 8%. The different between McDonald and Burger King is 25%. One fact that cause McDonald the highest percentage is they are aggressive in advertising. They always focus on different stages of consumer like family, teenage and little kid. The other fact is that McDonald had put a variety of choices in their menu. They have the different meals for the different stages of consumer such as happy meal for children and also different meal for the different period of time like they had the breakfast meal.

It's a little short for a summary essay. You'll have to try writing a little longer to reach the minimum number of words of 120. There are some adjustments that you can make in your essay. They are:
"The highest percentage of the choice of fast food outlets is McDonald, 33%. The lowest percentage of the choice of fast food outlets is Burger King, 8%."

Adjustment: The highest percentage of the choice of fast food outlets is McDonalds with 33%. The lowest percentage of the choice of fast food outlets is Burger King with 8%.

Do try to elaborate more on how McD advertise their products, who they focus on. Also, elaborate more on the menu; what do they have on the menu? Talk about it. That would help you write more and increase the word amount.

The different between percentage of McDonalds and Burger King is 25% respectively. The pie chart indicates that students prefer to go to McDonalds,the contributing factors of it’s high percentage are agreesive advertising and various menu provided by McDonalds. The efficient advertising via mass media attract consumers from different stages successfully,thus the demand for McDonalds is more higher if compare to other fast food outlets. Besides that, there’re plentiful of food to choose from their menu to satisfy everyone’s requirement and needs.

The pie chart shows the percentage of choices fast food outlets among Malaysian college students for may 2004.It is noted that the higher percentage are McDonald while the lowest are the Burger King with 33%and 8% respectively.The percentage for KFC is 7% higher that the Pizzahut.The percentage are 26% and 19% respectively.Beside that,the pie chart indicates that student prefer to go to McDonald because of its aggressive in advertising.Last but not least,McDonald also has the better variety in their menu plentiful to choose.pm11

What you can do to extend the number of words for your essay would be to elaborate further on your reasons on why you think McD is most prefered fast food outlet compared to the rest. Give examples of how McD's advertisements are aggresive. Desribe who their advertisements targets (eg. Children, family and teens). Also, mentioned about what they have in their menu compared to Burger King ( compare it to Burger King because Burger King has the lowest percentage). Tell us how their menu is different and give examples of what they have.

Remember to always elaborate when it comes to reasons. Do not just give the reaons without any elaborations to support your reasoning.
